The Pier Aquarium is a non-profit public aquarium and marine education center located at The Pier in downtown St. Petersburg. The Pier Aquarium is primarily staffed by marine science students from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida, College of Marine Science and is big on Education, offering a variety of fun, informative, and "hands-on" programs to satisfy the curiosity of visitors and students both young and old.  Fun and interesting topics include "Catchin' Critters Knee Deep," getting spun up in the "Web of Life," and discovering the "Bay in a Bucket".  The Pier Aquarium explores diverse marine environments from around the world, starting with  Tampa Bay and voyaging to the California Kelp Forests, the Caribbean and Pacific Coral Reefs.
